WHAT IS A TOPOGRAPHIC SURVEY?
This type of survey is done to acquire spatial information that directly relates to the site in question (all natural and man-made features). Information gathered is used to identify and map the contours of the ground and the existing features on the surface of the earth or slightly above or below the earth’s surface (trees, buildings, streets, manholes, utility poles etc.)

Do i need a topographic survey?
Topographic Surveys are often the first step in a construction or development project, providing critical data for the design and planning process. Spotting any issues at the beginning of the project helps cut costs, preventing problems further down the line. Topographical surveys are often required for the submittal of plans to the Building Board.
I’m doing an Addition/Extension…Do I need this type of Survey done?
Sometimes, the slope of your land may require you to consult a Land Surveyor to provide that data to your Architect. Consult your architect to see if you need a Topographic Survey done.
